Fits the bill for a modern role playing power forward. Pretty good catch and shoot guy, great touch inside, powerful athlete. Can defend around the rim and around the perimeter. Shades of role player Jeff Green, JaMychal Green.

Rasheer Fleming High End: Robert Covington Low End: Olympics Bruno Caboclo Median outcome: Donyell Marshall Pros: Frame, athleticism, defense, shooting, rebounding Cons: Scoring, handle, shot consistency Verdict: Toolsy forward of the draft who has made a shooting jump in his junior season. Everything about Rasheer’s capability to be an athletic 3&D wing checks out, but it is probably good to be somewhat skeptical on his shooting hot streak as he will likely regress back at some point to his previous splits from three. His size should also allow him to be a p&r roll man or pop option as a small ball 5, but other than that there are limitations to his upside as a scoring option as his handle and shot creation has not caught up yet to his shooting or defense.

Scouting Report: Rasheer Fleming

Position: Power Forward
Height/Weight: 6'9", 240 lbs
School: Saint Joseph's University (Junior, Class of 2025)
Draft Projection: late lottery to Mid-first

Overview:
Rasheer Fleming is a strong and athletic forward with a versatile skill set. Known for his rebounding, rim protection, and emerging offensive game, Fleming has steadily improved throughout his college career. His physicality and ability to impact both ends of the floor make him an intriguing prospect for the NBA.

Strengths:

  • Rebounding: Fleming is a dominant rebounder, particularly on the defensive glass, using his strength and positioning effectively.

  • Rim Protection: His timing and athleticism make him a solid shot-blocker and a defensive anchor in the paint.

  • Physicality: At 240 lbs, Fleming has the size and strength to compete against bigger players in the post.

  • Improved Shooting: He has shown progress in his outside shooting, with a quick release and good form, making him a potential floor spacer.

  • Versatility: Fleming can play both power forward and small-ball center, adding flexibility to his game.

Areas for Improvement:

  • Consistency from Deep: While his shooting has improved, maintaining consistency from three-point range will elevate his offensive impact.

  • Playmaking: Developing his passing and decision-making will make him a more complete player.

  • Lateral Quickness: Improving his mobility will help him guard quicker players on the perimeter.

Player Comparisons:

  • Paul Millsap (for his rebounding and versatility)

  • Montrezl Harrell (for his energy and physicality)

Summary:
Rasheer Fleming is a hard-working and physical forward with the potential to carve out a role in the NBA. His rebounding, defense, and emerging offensive game make him a valuable prospect. With continued development, he could become a key contributor at the professional level.

RASHEER FLEMING

HISTERICALCHEES COMBINE APPROVED

Position/Archetype: Switchable Play Finishing 3&D 4

College: St. Joe's

Pros:

  • Body: 6'9, 7'4-5 wingspan. Freakish build really long guy and you see it. Confirmed in the combine, someone with that length and movement and athleticism which he showed off will have a pretty high floor in the NBA as a stopper at the rim who can move well in transition as a threat..

  • Defensive Versatility: Can guard from the Perimeter, has similar defensive number to top defensive players in college, 98th percentile defender this year. uses his long arms to get into passing lanes off ball and can swat at the rim. very versatile, reminds me of Tari Eason a lot. A further improvement for him would be to reduce the amount of jumping he does, he can anticipate better overall and off the pick and roll he has to communicate better. but that length and how he can play help, on ball, or act as a small ball 5 or anchor at times will be very useful in the league.

  • Efficiency: 62% TS, almost had 50/40 splits, would have if it wasn't for a cold spell to end the season from 3. He find himself high percentage looks for himself in the paint by cutting and receiving the ball in the post or moving to find three point shots open which is very translatable to the league where most of the time your operating off ball

  • Cutting and off ball movements: Rasheer Fleming had one of the highest PPP on cuts in college this year at around 1.6, he also was great in the post, effective as a screener, and moving to find space on the perimeter and open shots. thats gonna be valuable for teams who need play finishers which is what Fleming is on offence

  • 3 point shooting: shot 39% from three ending on a cold streak but was consistent until tournament time, form is pretty pure with slight tweaks needed but a huge factor for his game to add spacing and for his cutting. Doubt this translates fully to the NBA but he looks to be above average in the NBA especially positionally.

  • Transition potential: Pretty athletic but his body size leads to some insane highlights in transition plays, low USG% in transition though which tells me there's still a lot to be tapped into but I believe the efficiency and eye test of what you see when he is in transition as well as him being in the lanes with his long arms will be useful.

  • Mindset and Role: Im not sure what I want to call this but watch Fleming and you see a tonne of different roles and jobs he's had to do in this team wether thats be this wing type player, more of the 4 next to a center or operate as a small ball 5 or even deeper than that find other ways to be active in between the game, it seems like he can always find a way to be useful on the court.

Cons:

  • Competition level: plays in the A10, not a strong competition, team underperformed and didn't turn up in competition time, biggest question to the actual magnitude of how good his Pros are. I think its fine, we've seen some really good players come out of the A-10 recently, an example would be Toumani Camara.

  • On Ball Creation + Mid Range: More turnovers than assists although not a high number, doesn't create for himself in the perimeter and mid range, mid range is very low volume and percentage and the only really way he is used on ball is driving to the rim where he Is ok. But really as a play finishing big is the Ast/To and the self creation that important? all my comparisons are very valuable players who had similar problems when in college.

  • Low USG% and role: usually players in situations like this get the ball more and have higher USG% but Fleming role-player in college too. not sure what to fully think about it but something to consider when evaluating him.

NBA Pro Comp: Tari Eason, PJ Washington, Longer Dorrian Finney Smith, Longer OG Anunoby

Projection: I think he will be a good to great starter for a team, but his value in skill will make him so valuable to a competitive squad. Even at his lowest being a simple spot up and cut Offensive player and a help rim protector there's a lot of value as a top half of this class type of player. If we can see him develop some type of closeout attack thats when we see if his defensive communication out the pick and roll develops I think he can be someone we look back on and think how didn't he go higher. And really are these things asking for too much?

SCOUTING REPORTS: Rasheer Fleming: Fleming is an amazing defender who has crazy switch ability and reflexes, he has high iq and a good feel on defense, he’s athletic and has good size, on offense he can shoot on the perimeter, but isn’t a good shot creator, doesn’t do much pick and roll or pop,

Dream fit: Hawks, Wolves.
