Big Board Rankings

Strengths

  • "Has prototypical dimensions for a modern forward at 6-foot-7

  • 230 pounds

  • with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. Powerful leaper."

  • "Smart team player who cuts and moves well off-ball. With his size and fluidity

  • he could have value as an on-ball screener in smaller lineups."

  • "Skilled finisher at the rim who can pull off acrobatic layups."

  • "Good passer; he makes quick decisions with the ball and tends to deliver with accuracy."

  • "Improved as a shooter from his freshman to sophomore seasons (27 percent to 43 percent from 3 and 58 percent to 64 percent from the line)."

  • "Flashes the ability to pull up from midrange—his shot actually looks more fluid here than it does on catch-and-shoot attempts."

  • "Active rebounder and terrific team defender. He’s sound inside

  • helping bigs and then closing back out on shooters. With a long wingspan

  • he can disrupt passing lanes."

  • "Efficient shooter and scorer who showed much-improved accuracy from 3-point range"

  • "Big

  • strong and athletic frame

  • which he uses to his advantage to shield defenders; finishes with strength around the rim"

  • "Good defender on and off the ball. Bulldog who is capable of defending multiple positions

  • though best when he''s using his strength to defend wings and power forwards."

Areas to Improve

  • "Scored only 13.8 points per 40 minutes. Played out of position on a slow-paced team with very little passing or shooting

  • which hampered his production."

  • "Loose handle

  • which leads to the majority of his turnovers."

  • "Lacks quickness to comfortably defend guards on switches."

  • "Stiff-looking shooter. Despite his improved numbers

  • he needs to prove a lot from NBA range against high-level defenders."

  • "Needs to improve handle and decision-making: negative assist/turnover ratio in part because of lax ball-handling and passing"

  • "Slow feet: doesn''t move well laterally for his position and doesn''t have burst to slide his feet with smaller

  • shiftier players defensively"

The perfect player to put as 4 in a "small ball" game. He can cover each of the forwards position. Moreover he has a very good off bal defense, above average on ball defense and winning mentality helpful to develop, not as a star but as a good rotational player.

Promising 3 and D forward. Fits the modern game well. Not the best at handling the ball, unlikely to become a primary option at any point in his career.
