Really consistent scorer who has an elite mid-range jumper. He is athletic and can just play-make. His defense is also solid. Needs to be more consistent from deep.

Projected NBA rookie role: Perimeter offensive threat
Projected NBA position: Swing
Projected Rookie Statline (Pts, Reb, Ast, Blk/Stl): 17, 2, 2, 0.5 (Stl)
Strengths: Elite shotmaking abilities and confidence, Shoots at a high level from both the 3 and middy. His size at 6'6 matched with his wingspan and release point makes his shot hard to contest
Weakness: Not afraid to admit I was lower on Tre Johnson coming out of High School, His passing liabilities are stil apparent and he needs to be more disciplined defensively, Also will occasionaly shy away from contact at the rim, The main turn off for me was his shot diet, More often than not he has a below average shot selection and despite his early success, as of recently he's been slowing down his production, But hey if they go in, ill keep my mouth shut.
Shades of/comp: Millwaukee Ray Allen and Taller Cam Thomas
Best outcome: Theres a real possibility where Tre Johnson continues his effiency and tough shot-making abilities at the next level. He feels to be a sure fire All Star if this translates and we see jumps defensively and playmaking wise
mid outcome: He could be limited outside of his perimeter scoring if isnt liable defensively at the next level. Still would be a great scorer but tough to see his impact outside fo that
worst outcome: Isnt efficient and still doesnt look to score at the rim. Not a great defender or playmaker while his shot diet is still questionable.

Tre Johnson shows the potential to be a 3 level scorer with defense. He is a very fluid mover at 6ft 6 and already has great guard skills. He is among the best shooters in the class from three and in the mid range who can shoot off the catch, move, and dribble. He has a very tight handle and has been able to consistently create good looks from the perimeter using this. He is also active off ball. He does sometimes struggle to get all the way to the rim and separate from his defender with burst, but his first step isn't bad considering his height. He needs to improve his rim volume to become a star, but he has been effective once he gets there. I think he can improve this as he puts on strength. His passing is the most underrated part of game. He is a very willing passer who plays within the offense and has flashed some more advances passes like a live dribble skip pass. He has also established himself as a transition threat. Texas gets out in transition quickly and Tre has had the ball in these situations a lot.
He has a high motor off the ball. He fights and navigates screens at a high level for his age. He can over help a bit but this hasn't led to open shots because of his recovery. He has solid hands and length which makes him a good on ball defender as well. He doesn't have elite lateral quickness and I don't project him to guard up due to his strength.
His shooting and solid defense give him a high floor. I'm confident he will be able to create jump shots. He has shown passes to be a good passer and he is already willing. The volume at the rim is what will likely scare scouts. His progression in this area is clearly his swing skill.
I think he could be similar to Devin Vassell. Lanky shooting guards with solid defense. I think Tre will improve his passing like Vassell has. Both are transition threats. Neither attacks the rim often. I'm confident Tre will become this level of player, he could be an all star if he can become more of a downhill threat.

6'6" wing with serious confidence and shotmaking.
Solid 3 point shooter with serious in-between game. Knows how to make defenders struggle with his pull-up.
His shot selection could be improved, and his 3 ball goes hot and goes cold. In a perfect world, he would be one of the best three-level scorers in CBB, but he's not reliable just yet.
One thing that turns me away from guys like Johnson is the lack of drives and penetration, the willingness to be patient on offence and wait to get a better shot.
He's a bit like (and I hate to say this) Cam Thomas.
Old. School. Player.
when I look at Tre Johnson I see a player I thought had gone extinct but he is looking like a bucket for Texas.
