Tre Johnson has been one of the most impressive freshman in the country statistically. He has been putting up big scoring numbers very consistently throughout the season, and has showcased a lot of ability that make him a very intriguing prospect. I think he is one of the most noteworthy scorers in the draft in terms of longterm potential. He already is an elite shooter off the catch and off the dribble, and he is one of the best mid-range shooters in the draft right now. The rim pressure needs work, but he is athletic enough for me to buy into him being able to add that to his game. His versatility as an on the ball and off the ball offensive player will allow teams to use him in a lot of different ways, which will make him a more dynamic and impactful offensive player. He is just ok at most other things right now, but he has showcased potential as a defensive player with his athletic tools and flashes of skill. I don’t think he’ll ever be a liability as a defender, and that should go a long way towards strengthening a teams confidence in drafting him. I’ve been ignoring Tre Johnson for far too long on my board. He is flat out one of the most talented offensive players in the draft, and he has a lot of longterm potential. He has a valuable skillset that will both translate seamlessly to the NBA and allow him to take on more responsibilities as a scorer early on into his career. He’s one of the best prospects in the draft, and I expect him to hold this high regard on my board for the foreseeable future.
