NBA draft should give equal opportunity at #1 pick to bottom 2 teams in the league and the 7 seeds from each conference after the wildcard games. There needs to be incentive for fringe teams to try to compete and make the playoffs. We should reward the teams that are best of the worst teams. At least they are making efforts to win. As a fan, I want to see teams trying to win rather than trying to lose. There will be too many teams trying to tank this coming year because they are fringe playoff teams and they’d rather tank for the #1 pick. With the current model I think we will see a larger gap in wins between the top 6-8 seed teams and the 7-15 seed teams.
The most ideal draft order in my proposed model would be 1: Worst team 2: second worst team 3: #7 seed east or west 4: remaining east or west #7 5-30: reverse order of league record of remaining teams
