・Portland
Santi Aldama is a hot name. Memphis has made a significant investment in him, and it's unclear whether he's actually on the table. Portland could actually send players that perfectly fill Memphis's needs at the 5 and 3 positions.
I think it's fine to offer Aldama a 4-year, $80M deal. He’s younger than Toumani and Kris. A versatile player who can play anywhere and handle a 5-out offense is rare in the league.
・Memphis
Re-signing Aldama would be financially difficult unless the team finds a way to move Clarke’s contract. If re-signing him isn’t an option, the team would need to recoup some assets, but I think a proven center and a manageable big-wing player wouldn’t be a bad trade.
Both RWIII and Kris would benefit in Memphis. There are no competitors for their positions. A backup 5 and a big-wing SF are major needs for Memphis. Kris is behind Toumani and Rayan, and it seems unlikely that he will become a starter in Portland.
