Pick Situation: This is if the Blazers jumped up into the top #3rd and the Pacers are at #4th or #5th and want to trade up. The Blazers trade down. So they swap picks.
Blazers:
**What they trade: Top #3 Pick + 2025 First-Round Pick + Two Second-Round Picks + Eric Bledsoe + Didi Louzada + Keon Johnson.
The Blazers are trying to retool around Damian Lillard and this is the perfect way of doing so. Jerami Grant wants to be a Blazers. He has been working out with Damian Lillard as of late and wants to be his teammate. If they do indeed get Grant, they will need a legitimate on-ball defender as well, and they acquire that with OG Anunoby. They also have the #4th or #5th pick which could be used to draft Shaedon Sharpe.
Then they would bring back or sign these players:
Joe Ingles: 2 years - $15 Million.
Jusuf Nurkic: 3 years - $40.0 Million.
Anfernee Simons: Whatever he desires!
Jalen Smith or another big man: Full Mid-Level Exception.
Backup PG
The Blazers could have a starting group of: Damian Lillard - Anfernee Simons - OG Anunoby - Jerami Grant - Jusuf Nurkic.
With Josh Hart, Nassir Little, Joe Ingles, Jalen Smith, Shaedon Sharpe, Trendon Watford, Brandon Williams, Justise Winslow, and Backup PG coming off the bench.
Raptors:
What they trade: Khem Birch + OG Anunoby.
I understand Raptor fans not wanting to trade OG Anunoby, I really do. However, just hear me out. The Raptors have 3 legitimate starting forwards right now. Pascal, OG, and Barnes. Pascal is the best of the three and Barnes is the youngest, so OG is the odd one out. They were already in talks about trading him this past year, to the Pacers! With this trade, they finally get a rim-protecting floor spacer in Myles Turner + 2 second-round picks + a $6.00 million trade exception.
A new lineup of: Fred VanVleet - Gary Trent Jr - Scottie Barnes - Pascal Siakim - Myles Turner
I believe if the Raptors had a guy like Turner, they would win more games because he brings the rim protection that they have sorely missed since Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka were there.
Pacers:
What they trade: Myles Turner + #4 or #5 pick.
First and foremost, only $3.9 million is guaranteed in Bledsoe's contract. Secondly, this is if the Pacers fall in love with one of the guys in the top three. They trade up to draft Paolo, Chet, or Jabari. The Pacers have a solid squad, and they must continue to tank and rebuild to get better. Trading up for a potential star in the making is a MUST for a team like that Pacers.
Pistons:
What they trade: Jerami Grant.
Now some believe that Jerami Grant is a must-trade and some say he is a must-keep. I believe that Grant is the kind of guy they should look to trade. Grant is eligible for an extension this offseason. It could be worth up to $112 million over four years and would tie him to the Pistons until 2027. Do the Pistons really want his contract in the middle of their rebuild? I do not think so.
It may not look like enough for Grant to some, but a 2025 First-Round pick + Second + saving $16.3 Million + Didi Louzada + Keon Johnson should be enough for him. They could get an extra second-round pick if they desire. Keon has shown incredible flashes of being a legitimate NBA player and could be a nice role player going forward. His scoring and playmaking would fit perfectly alongside Cade Cunningham. They also keep their possible top #3 First-Round Pick.
