This trade does work after the new league year the reason the Celtics do it is to sell high on brown who had an incredible year also having salary cap issues and some recent reports of him and Tatums relationship not being to great so I can definitely see a trade and from the blazers perspective they get one of the best players in the league playing great defensively and scoring great aswell which would fit the teams identity very well
