After Demar Derozan signed with the Kings and Portland was already PREVIOUSLY asking for both LAL FRPs- now they will hold even more firm to it

The Lakers are out of free agent options for players to sign which means unless they want to be so mid they need to make a trade. Out of players on the trading block (particularly forwards): Jerami Grant, Brandon Ingram, DFS, and Cam Johnson immediately come to mind. Brandon Ingram would be a 1 year rental unless you’re willing to pay him around $45M after this season and he has some injury concerns. DFS and Cam are great at their individual skills but are they good enough to lift the Lakers over the top? Cam also struggles with injuries heavily. Jerami Grant not only seems like the best fit but he is also who would be most impactful towards winning. Everyone knows this though so his price is steep. Portland was already asking for both LAL FRPs and we will see what the Lakers do but they may have to pull the trigger on a move like this.

For Portland the Demar Derozan signing just put them in a fantastic place for leverage in a Jerami Grant trade. With the Kings taking away the remaining FA option AND the West getting better, Portland can increase their asking price for Jerami Grant (specifically to the Lakers) but to anyone in need of a wing. Also Portland doesn’t need to rush- as a rebuilding team without a 2nd starting caliber forward- theirs no rush to trade a veteran presence yet. If a trade like this could happen where Portland takes on no cap in return then Portland would easily do this.

For both the Nets and the Pistons this is either getting a player they want for cheap (Nets) or taking on salary and getting a SRP in return (Pistons)

IM AWARE THAT LAKERS FANS WONT LIKE THIS BUT IM JUST TRYING TO SHOW WHAT A JG TRADE IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE AFTER THE DEROZAN SIGNING
