・Toront
Honestly, I don’t see a place for Ant as a starter in this league. He has the ability to fit well as a sixth man like Monk, but given his status as a homegrown player in Portland, that role may not be an option there. However, Toronto is a team that could utilize him as their sixth man. Considering Barnes and Barrett's weaker shooting, having a top-tier shooter like Ant could be valuable. It’s unclear how many years they’ll tank, but adding a top pick could make them competitive by the 25-26 season. His contract has a year and a half left, so they could experiment with him and let him go if necessary. From Toronto's view, this is simply a low-risk trade with little downside.
・Portland
One of Portland's goals this season is to trade Ant. The experiment is over. The reason we once traded CJ and Norm was to "clear the runway for Ant," and now it's to "clear the runway for Scoot." Scoot, Ant, and Sharpe can't coexist, and we fans already know this. Portland plans to lock in the backcourt with Scoot and Shae and add either Flagg or Ace through the draft. As for trading Jabari, we have Toumani, Kris, and Rayan, who are especially valuable and versatile players. With extensions coming up for Toumani and Rayan in two years, I doubt Portland will offer Jabari a new contract if they prioritize them. We appreciate his rebounding and hard work, but his lack of athleticism and shooting is holding him back.

Rayan played point during garbage time in the Kings game. They can move Scoot to the starting position and use Rayan/Banton as backup PGs. They are well past ready to trade Ant, but it's likely they won't find a trade partner. Portland might have to release Ant without seeking anything in return. There really is no demand for a small, no-defense two-guard.
Ant is a remnant of the Dame & CJ era. He is good but not great. However, I am very grateful for the exciting moments he has provided.
