Why Spurs do this:-
The main idea is to trade up to 13/15 (also getting 2 SRPs) where there are a lot of defensive prospects such as Mark Williams, Tari Eason, Ochai Agbaji, Ousmane Dieng, etc and they also get another defensive piece in Winslow (who is only missing shooting) as they improve their defense from last season. They also free even more cap space to sign Zach LaVine.
Why Blazers do this:-
7 to 9 isn't a huge step-down and getting Grant and Richardson improves their depth, wings, and versatility. Should the Blazers draft someone like Sochan at #9 they could end up with a lot better defense and overall depth.
Why the Pistons do this:-
They are in rebuild mode and would rather get picks right now. This trade gives them 3 first-round picks (two from this year) along with someone who was projected to be a lottery pick at some point. Keon himself is a good prospect to have for Detroit as he was seen as a lockdown defender with scoring and shooting upside in college, he would not be a bad fit next to Cade long term whether it's in the starting lineup next to him or off the bench. They also free cap space for someone like Jalen Brunson should they pursue him in Free Agency.
Why the Hornets do this:-
They trade up for a prospect they really like in the top 10 because at 13 and 15 they MIGHT not get the type of prospect they want to have (e.g Mark Williams or Jalen Duren).
Potential starting lineups:-
Spurs: Murray/LaVine/Johnson/13 or 15/Poeltl
Blazers: Dame/Simons/Grant/9/Nurkic (Maybe Little starts instead)
Pistons: Cade/#5/Bey/M.Bagley?/Stewart (Maybe Keon can start)
Hornets: LaMelo/Rozier/PJ/Bridges/7
