Why do Blazers accept?

The Blazers have won their last 3 games without both Anfernee Simons and Deandre Ayton. Shaedon Sharpe, Donovan Clingan, Scoot Henderson and Toumani Camara seem to be influential pieces for the future along with important role players like Timelord, Deni and DB Hooper. In this deal we are getting an unexpectedly valuable first round pick (2025 1st via MIL) along with Ben Simmons and Tim Hardaway Jr. Simmons and Hardaway combine for $56.1m in expiring salary for this upcoming offseason. Enough to give future big contracts to those influential franchise pieces.

Why do Nets accept?

The 2 main factors for this deal for the Nets are Ben Simmons and Anfernee Simons. Firstly, moving Ben's $40.1m would be important as they would defintely need to clear some salary for Cam Thomas who would be needing a humungous contract. Getting Ant and I-Stew would bolster their depth at Guard and Center positions.

Why do Pistons accept?

The Pistons have had a great start to the year with the addition of Tobias Harris and Cade Cunningham's outbreak. With the acquisition of Deandre Ayton, it would be a huge step up from Isaiah Stewart and would work well in a PnR with Cade. If the Pistons want to get serious about contending, they must be willing to sacrifice some of their pieces in order to become a bigger title threat. This deal would be their next step towards contention in the East.
