With the Giannis trade rumors I figured he would be a good fit for the Blazers with Henderson and Simons in the backcourt. So, I decided to make a trade around that idea.
Why the Blazers do this:
It’s Giannis. More in depth though, a starting group of Scoot/Simons/Middleton/Giannis/Clingan long-term is amazing on both ends of the floor with role players like Thybulle and Camara and Connaughton off the bench.
Why the Bulls do this:
The Bulls send the Blazers their pick back which, if the trade doesn’t go through, likely conveys as two seconds. In exchange they get Kris Murray and Duop Reath, two bench guys who can be solid pieces with the Bulls young core.
Why the Bucks do this:
Shaedon Sharpe is likely the highest-potential player the Bucks could get from a Giannis trade. They could take a bigger load of picks from OKC or San Antonio but that package wouldn’t include as high a ceiling as Sharpe could have. They still get a solid set of picks as well as Ayton and Rob Williams, enabling them to move Brook Lopez to a contender and begin their new era with Dame and Sharpe. Jerami Grant is also a great wing replacement for Middleton, and this new team is probably just as good, if not better, than the original.
