Portland makes their "all-in" move, dealing Anfernee Simons and the #3 pick for Pascal Siakam. Lillard finally has an All-Star/All-NBA caliber teammate. Siakam has already proven that he can be the second option on a championship squad. Given that Siakam only has one more year left on his current deal, this is a fair trade package.

In order to resign Siakam next year, the Blazers had to get some undesirable contracts off the books. They ship Jusuf Nurkic off to Brooklyn, another team looking to rebuild in the wake of the Kyrie/Harden/KD disaster. Nurkic, while not transcendent, is a solid center with an underrated offensive game that would be a good fit next to Mikal Bridges.

In exchange for Nurkic and a 2026 1st, Portland receives Nic Claxton and Royce O' Neale. Claxton is a great defensive, rim-running center that is much cheaper than Nurkic. O'Neale provides some depth at forward.

The Blazers also welcome a new free agent: Seth Curry, who played for them in 2019. Curry can provide an offensive spark at guard when Lillard is on the bench.

This is what a potential depth chart might look like:

PG: Lillard | Curry

SG: Sharpe | Thybulle

SF: Grant | O'Neale

PF: Siakam | Watford

C: Claxton | Eubanks

This is a team with a lot of flexibility, and the potential for a lot of different looks on the court. Siakam could play some small-ball center and Sharpe could slide over to SF if Portland want to trot out Thybulle or Curry alongside Lillard for a boost of defense or offensive, respectively. Small ball (Lillard, Sharpe, Curry/Thybulle, Grant, Siakam) and tall ball (Lillard/Curry, Sharpe/Thybulle/O'Neale, Grant, Siakam, Claxton) are both on the table.

Does this make Portland contenders in a deep yet volatile Western Conference? Would Toronto or Brooklyn go for these deals? Sound off below.
