The Portland Trail Blazers go "all-in" for Mikal Bridges, sending Anfernee Simons, Jusuf Nurkic, the #3 pick, a 2026 1st, and 2 2nds for Bridges and Nic Claxton. Bridges, the centerpiece of the Kevin Durant trade, is a transcendent two-way player who would fit perfectly next to Damian Lillard. No matter how much the Nets try to kill rumors about this trade, they refuse to die.

Brooklyn is emerging from a turbulent season. The Kyrie-Harden-KD superteam was a disaster. The Nets did get some picks back from the Suns, but their roster is a mishmash of random players that they acquired in these various trades. While Bridges is great, he is a fringe All-Star at best: not the guy to build a team around. The Nets can do a full reset by offloading Bridges and Claxton for Simons - an up-and-coming player on a team-friendly contract - the right to draft either Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller with the #3 pick, another 1st round pick in 2026, and two second-round picks. They also get Nurkic, a solid center with an underrated offensive game.

But back to Portland, who has championship aspirations with Lillard entering the end of his prime. They round out the roster by resigning Jerami Grant, last summer's key addition, as well as some quality backups, including Portland native Kevin Love. The Trail Blazers depth chart would look something like this:

PG: Lillard | Carter

SG: Thybulle | Sharpe

SF: Bridges | Little

PF: Grant | Love

C: Claxton | Reid

Does this team have a chance to contend in a deep yet volatile Western Conference? Is this a fair package for the Nets? Sound off below.
