Steph is still great, but his future production is a big question mark as he is in his final years. The warriors are out of the playoffs at this point with Jimmy going down. Trading Kuminga is not going to bring back enough talent to make them competitive. They need to trade away what they can for some future assets, but there aren’t many teams that will be able to/want to take on the salary of Curry. They don’t have much leverage. This option at least gives the warriors a pick and more moveable contracts in Grant and Holiday. Maybe they finally flip their script and try to develop Kuminga. This def could have been a troll a few days ago, but jimmy’s injury is pretty detrimental to this franchise and changes their direction.
