Go ahead and file this on under deals that won't happen, but definitely an interesting one to consider if it did.

Let's start with the Raptors, there's plenty of talk radio debate between going for it and blowing it up. I'm in the camp that they're too stubborn to blow it up, so instead they utilize their franchise player in Lowry and their lottery luck to add another major piece in Simmons. Van Fleet-OG-Simmons-Siakam-Boucher is going to be a top 5 defensive lineup, no question. Spacing may be an issue, but T-Dot is the kind of place that makes really good sense for Simmons to start over and is a great fit for him.

On to the Sixers. There were great lamentations about not getting Lowry at the deadline due to not wanting to give up on Maxey & Thybuille. What if you didn't have to? This sign an trade puts Lowry on a sunset deal that pays him market rate AND adds 2 more rotation pieces in Sexton and Nance. You add shooting, depth, leadership, and versatility with this deal, which should make the 76ers the odds on favorite for the east next year.

For the Cavs, it's simple, we're 2 years away from being 2 years away and that's not the time to give a player like Sexton max money. In addition, as much as I LOVE Nance, he'll be on the back 9 by the time we're ready to roll. Getting the 4th pick and 2 vets who are fantastic fits for Bickerstaff's system is the best we could hope to get back in a deal like this.
