After this trade, the Lakers have a starting five of Westbrook, Dillion Brooks, LeBron, AD, and Tristan Thompson. The addition of Brooks adds shooting and defense to their starting five and Thompson is a veteran that can take over the hole at center after Harrell was traded and if Drummond leaves. Also they now have a bench of Caruso, Denzel Valentine, Tony Snell, and Marc Gasol. This isn’t a great bench but it is the best they can probably get with them having 3 max contracts on the team. As for the Grizzlies, they unload more than 5 mil in this trade and get younger with THT and a second round pick from the Celtics. As for the Celtics, this is a great trade for them because they get their pg and only give up Thompson and a second.
