THE DAME LOPEZ PICK AND ROLL/POP -many are curious as to why the bucks barely run pick and roll with dame and giannis, but I think the pop option brook provides gives another dimension to the bucks offense. Dame is top 5 in efficiency in pick and roll situations among ball handlers . Brook Lopez is a top 20 most efficient roller among bigs, adding that with his 3pt spacing, and elite ability to set screens, provides the bucks with a lethal option in their offense.

THE DEFENSE ISSUES WITH THE BUCKS GUARDS -After watching today’s game, I’ve changed my mind on what the bucks need to do at guard. Malik Beasley has been too good of a shooter and quaternary creator option to just replace with the first solid point of attack defender the bucks can get at the deadline. The bucks current solution to their lack of point of attack defense is playing Andre Jackson jr. He’s solid but they need to do more than ask a rookie guard to be the stopper in the playoffs. This leads me to my next point about Marjon.

MARJON BEAUCHAMP

-Why is Marjon back to garbage time minutes? He’s been a versatile defender who can guard guards which is what the bucks need. He’s great in transition and currently shooting over 40 percent from three on over 2 attempts a game. He has lost his minutes to Andre Jackson jr, but that hasn’t completely transformed the defense. They should have lineups with dame running the offense, and have Andre and Marjon both on the floor for defense. Solid bench lineups could be something like dame, Andre, Marjon, Bobby, Brook. I’m not saying take away Andre’s mins, or even stop playing Pat, but I think Marjon should take a cut out of Pat’s minutes.

CELTICS STAGNATION

-I could write an essay on what the Celtics did wrong today, but I also understand they have been the best team in the league so I’ll share my main point. The Celtics offense can be very stagnant at times. The Celtics have stretches of beautiful basketball with lots of ball movement, but also stretches of your turn my turn basketball. Jaylen brown probably got 4-5 isos in the first quarter of the game. And despite it being relatively efficient, KP shouldn’t be getting a lot of post ups in this offense. I’m fine with some iso ball because have the cast but coming out the gate, in the first quarter I expect better looks. They still my champion pick, just throwing that out there.
