Tre Johnson shows the potential to be a 3 level scorer with defense. He is a very fluid mover at 6ft 6 and already has great guard skills. He is among the best shooters in the class from three and in the mid range who can shoot off the catch, move, and dribble. He has a very tight handle and has been able to consistently create good looks from the perimeter using this. He is also active off ball. He does sometimes struggle to get all the way to the rim and separate from his defender with burst, but his first step isn't bad considering his height. He needs to improve his rim volume to become a star, but he has been effective once he gets there. I think he can improve this as he puts on strength. His passing is the most underrated part of game. He is a very willing passer who plays within the offense and has flashed some more advances passes like a live dribble skip pass. He has also established himself as a transition threat. Texas gets out in transition quickly and Tre has had the ball in these situations a lot.
He has a high motor off the ball. He fights and navigates screens at a high level for his age. He can over help a bit but this hasn't led to open shots because of his recovery. He has solid hands and length which makes him a good on ball defender as well. He doesn't have elite lateral quickness and I don't project him to guard up due to his strength.
