Here is my off-season that Houston should do in order to progress within the Western Division
1. Hire Kenny Atkinson as the new HC
Atkinson will develop this young core better than any other avaliable HC and I think he’s the right guy for the job.
2. Trade KPJ and 2 SRP for Doug McDermott and a 2024 1st Protected
Rockets need to move on from KPJ and he would prefer a new destination, rather than sitting on the bench. He’s not a true PG and would be a great asset for the spurs.
Trade Jaesean Tate to the Charlotte Hornets for 2 later SRPS
Jaesean Tates time in Houston is over. And I think he would provide charlotte with a better spark than he currently has at Houston.
NBA DRAFT
Select Scoot Henderson with the 2nd pick in the NBA Draft.
Select GG Jackson with the 18th pick in the NBA Draft
I believe Scoot is a generational talent, and his backcourt with Jalen Green would be elite.
FREE AGENCY
After clearing more cap with the trades of Tate and KPJ, the rockets would have a projected cap space of 55M.
