Talking About Random Things Until FanSpo Limits Me

This will be somewhat similar to a comedy show, except there will be less comedy and more sports, but I will sprinkle in stories that I never got around to. By stories I never got around to, I mean I can't put enough garbage to make it an actual post. This is what people voted for, so let's get into it. I'll preface by saying that NO ONE will read the whole thing. If no one wanted to read my 9,000 character post about FanSpo's social media accounts, then I'm damn sure no one will read 20,000 characters worth of me yapping mindlessly. But please just stick with me for this one post, and read the whole thing.

At the start of making this post, I was wondering how to end the post. It was between three options: end it with a word cut in the middle, add a bunch of spaces at the end, or perfectly cut it so that a period would be a 20,000th character with perfect grammar. What is my decision? I have no clue, you'll have to find out.

I would say "get a soft drink", but at this point I don't even know what makes drinks "soft". They say it's to differentiate it from hard liquor and alcohol, but absolutely no one is confusing a can of Pepsi with a bottle of Jack Daniels that's been sitting on the shelf for a few weeks by then. The name would be fine with me, if movie theaters didn't use that name instead of beverages.

Speaking of movie theaters, inflation hasn't hit any business harder than this one. Movie tickets are way too expensive, and it's honestly demotivated me from watching anything. I'm sure Barbie, Oppenheimer, and other movies were great watches, but paying $15 for ONE ticket is ridiculous. I don't know who they think I am. At least the movie comes on Netflix one year later. But my problem with this method, is that Netflix is ALSO getting too expensive.

Why does Netflix expect a college student, who will eventually be in major debt by two years, to get their own Netflix subscription? Removing password sharing was to attempt to make more money, it's understandable. But I'm pretty sure that their economy is down in the dumps. Their rule over the market in 2020 has fallen apart. Part of this is because people are going outside now, and also that other streaming services are popping up now and actually succeeding (shoutout Nebula), but a big reason is also horrible business decisions. They're nearing levels of Blockbuster.

I have to clarify the potential clickbait. By 20,000 words, I mean 20,000 characters. I would've put 20,000 Characters on the poll, but no one would've voted for it. And I'm gonna be honest, this is the option I wanted to do. I just wanted to see the outcome. Now, 20,000 words is a lot of words, more than you probably realize. For November, I had a challenge to write 25,000 words in one month. This meant that I had an entire week to focus on this novel with no school (Thanksgiving Break). The result? I was several thousand words behind by Week 3. But I didn't give up that easily. Introducing: Wikipedia. I used this to write about the Cod Wars between Iceland and the United Kingdom. Using their scholarly resources (that's for the teachers), I wrote over 4,000 words in one day. In the end, I still had to cram in words on the final day. On November 1st, I complained about the challenge taking place on a 30-day month instead of a 31-day month.

I'll start off by creating the elephant in the room (it spawned in out of nowhere). This is my last post on the website. I'll leave comments here and there for a few days before leaving for good, but this is my guaranteed last post. The rundown is (this is from one of my comments): I acted like a 5 year old until I switched my name to RunCMC, and that toddler personality lives on in the chronicles post I have pinned forever. I know how they'll act, and tbh I just want to see if even one of them could carry on a legacy of what could be mine, which is just a person who doesn't try overly hard to be popular and likes to not argue like a bitch about a trade that's also horrible. I'd rather have a site full of people who'll own up to bad trades, but I don't think that's what this site will have over the next few years. Not many good users have joined this past year, but guru is one of them. Not afraid of taking huge risks (and he might be chronically online), he's now one of the most respected users (I wrote this before he went and deleted his account). Hopefully users like him can envision a picture of what this site should be like, but instead it'll just be bad trades and bad mocks. I've talked about it a lot, this site barely has a future. We need users like CoopGt3PTT and Basketball back. I'm one of the 5 people (just a guess) who are still active and have been on this site for over 2 years. Kyrie hates (hated) this site, Atto is (was) going through a phase, the previous two people I mentioned are gone, and 90% of the 76ers fanbase has also left (for better or worse). I haven't thought about the downsides of this site's social state in this way, and tbh you might have a point. Eventually though, I'll have to pull the plug, its only so long before a website becomes unenjoyable and a burden on your health.

That so far wasn't been a problem for me. I took my break to potentially limit an addiction which would ruin my life. But I rarely ran out of ideas. I took the opportunity to do Pick'Em daily for everyone (to the best of my abilities, I be sleepy on occasions), come up with the occasional good idea for a post, the usual. Over time I've come to the realization that trades are a huge scam. You will never get a 100% appreciation rate (I just made that up on the fly, I have no clue what is actually means) on any trade, one absolute lunatic will call out your trade saying that the Jazz pass. People clearly agree with me on this take (I said this 2 weeks ago at the time of writing, check out the reactions https://fanspo.com/nba/s/general/trades/o5zeBG2XTiq7qR/just-a-thought-i-had-ignore-trade).

This site in all just needs a huge rework. GM score needs to be fixed, the fact that you can look at comments 24/7 and upvote it to be a "Featured Creator" is blasphemy. You can abuse trades can get crazy GM score in that way. You can just leave your thoughts on every trade you see for an hour a day, and get Top 200 within maybe a month. It's broken. It needs fixing. Then again, zach knows best. He's twice the age of a few users on this site, he has the brains. I wish I could make a decision, but he's halfway across the country from me in San Antonio. I would have no clue on what they have planned next, I just hope it's for the greater good. This site is also growing extremely toxic to the levels of Reddit, which isn't a good thing. Quoting another comment I had, this one to swagduck, "Trades have overflown this site to the brim. There's so many people who can make a solid trade but someone's bias towards a certain team can lead them into thinking it's the worst trade ever. Happening with Blazers fans now especially. They have the same bias as every team's fanbase dose, but half of trades now have their team included, so there's more bias and negativity to go around.

It's gotten to the point where I don't interact with people and they still block me for their own satisfaction I guess. I have no idea where I went wrong with certain users who I'd rather not list, but the block button is turning into a literal magnet.

All the good users quit. For a whole 6-8 months there were no good new users. Now there's a lot better who might end up doing great things in the future (I'd go as far as to say save the site) but other new users are putting an unstoppable weight on this site's reputation. What happened to the times when the only bad thing on this site was MaestroThomas.

I don't think it's fully the user's fault for ruining this site. This entire generation (Alpha and Beta) is extremely toxic (and oddly homophobic, which contributes to toxicity) which spills over to this site. If I could do something about it I would. But all the old users from TradeNBA and prior are gone. We're left with 90% of users having no father figure or frankly anyone to look over them."

The winner of my poll was a mock, which was never going to happen, something I only realized after making the poll. Everyone wants to do their silly thing, so I'll let them do their silly thing. And after seeing Risacher4ROTY's epic fail of a mock, I don't think I'd do one even if I wanted to. People running mocks try so hard to be innovative, but they instead just look goofy. Giving away a gift card shouldn't and won't help make a mock popular. People have realized this, so now mocks with no twists are the most popular. But this is worse. "Oh, since mocks with real prizes won't do well, maybe me copying the original idea will do good!" And they're right. Everyone praises the idea. Except me. I think that mocks trying to be innovative and failing are better than mocks where no one is trying to be creative. I don't care if you have a $15 gift card as a prize. The feeling of satisfaction is more than enough as a prize.

I wouldn't know, as I've never won a mock. Not doing one for 11 months didn't help much, and neither does my absolutely horrible knowledge of basketball. I just found out yesterday that Devin Booker plays point guard right now. The Kings not making one move was WAY more detrimental than I thought it was in the moment. This is actually starting to become a serious problem. This league has changed so much in the last few years. I'd find a way to transition into my next point but I don't know how to.

Here's a random thought for you to work with and ponder about for 30 seconds. On Billboard, you can manipulate popularity by making different versions. What if, to manipulate your post, you make different versions of it. Here's this post, but now it's flipped upside down! You liked how the words were typed, well I'll stretch out the words and call it a "slowed down" version! It'd be really funny to see some random post get a bunch of different variations and make it to number 1 on Trending even though the original post only has like 13 views and 2 comments.

Some of my other thoughts which I actually have posted about have gone insanely viral over the last few months. One of them is my 2nd-most popular post ever (why?), and others have went No. 1 on trending along with a multitude of comments. This was mainly just something to say for the point of talking. I'll say what I can (Keyword: Can, there's a LOT of things that I can't say without being the big red hammer). During this timeframe, I've been hit with a fair share of negative comments, saying my thoughts are simply wrong. I took almost none of these into consideration, and laughed sometimes at them being mad. One person told me that I was soft, and guru commented on one of them without even understanding the post. They were almost all pretty horrible. Except one comment by TS, which told me to make better trades. When I first read that comment, I was frankly dumbfounded. Me? Make better trades? I'd rather not make trades at all. I've kinda stuck to that, ever since that post I had only made 2 legitimate trades which were mainly about gauging interest. But other people definitely saw this comment and took it to heart. This past few weeks (as I'm writing this on May the 4th) have been ridiculous for trades. Atto finally locked in and is back to where he was pre-emo. SeattleThunder's offseason posts are really good, and he's still been begging me for how to get views (I'm not the right person to ask). Cheetah and silentt have came out of nowhere making very good trades also. This community's trade scene is more active than ever, and I'm all here for it.

On May 10th, I had my 6th Spelling Bee (I'm not kidding, just please trust me on this). By this point, I was 0 - 5 on first place appearances, along with by friend who I will not name for privacy purposes. I was terrified. For everyone reading this who doesn't know how my competition works, it's teams of 6 people from a school, with 5 people in at one time. One person sits out each round, in which there are 4 of them. This was my last year doing Spelling Bee, it was now or never. I had finished 2nd or 3rd every other year, this one would be different. Last year I got screwed because of bad pronunciation, this year that would not happen. I went in with very low hopes. Even my own Spelling Bee proctor had zero confidence. I started out as the substitute in the hopes that I could cook in the next three rounds. We got 24 out of 25 possible points. Normal for our school, but a school called Rolling Hills (I'm not making that name up) got 25 out of 25. This meant bad news. They ended up getting 22 the next round. If we got 24 or 25, we were golden. But us only getting 23 tied us up with them. Round 3 is where the locking in starts to take place. One person on Rolling Hills misses the first word, and we got all 5 possible points. We ended up getting 25 points on Rounds 3 & 4 for the epic win. My Spelling Bee first place record is saved at 1 - 5, which is the reverse of Manu Ginobili's finals record (no one in NBA history has a 1 - 5 Finals record). After he won, we went to In-N-Out (it's a tradition) where I then got the In-N-Out hat. And fast food, for whatever reason, is one of the mostly hotly debated topics this year. The general consensus before 2024 was: In-N-Out good, McDonalds mid, Burger King bad, everything else is somewhere in the middle. However, lately, everything has changed (outside of In-N-Out being good). Raising Canes is now apparently one of the best restaurants, according to others. I cannot confirm, I am vegetarian and they serve chicken, that's only what I have heard. Starbucks is now one of the worst restaurants ever because everything is overpriced. This one is semi-justified, but also it's a bias. The actual "food" they serve isn't bad, it's just how many people go there on a daily basis and how many people bring it into my school even though they explicitly say at the beginning of the year "only water is allowed". McDonalds' status (only in my school) has been upgraded to good food because even with your intranet system you can still order food from McDonalds. You can also submit a job application to In-N-Out, and you can get a wedding at Taco Bell (look it up on their website I'm not joking).

I then did my math test with the hat on. I got a 100, as usual (the topic was two-way tables). But apparently, getting 100 wasn't too difficult (I'm good at math I swear. I just got a 95 in my 3rd Trimester, yes my school has trimesters, don't ask me why), but the grades came in for everyone within 20 minutes. For context, normally the class receives their test scores on Monday (all online). Everyone in my class (except one person, ignore the straggler) also got 100.

Earlier this week I was staying at my aunt's house for a fun little vacation. It was just my birthday and my mom wanted to do something special. We're there, getting ready to pack up the day before leaving (or at least we planned to). I'm watching Youtube in my designated bedroom (I've slept there 4 times, just the luck of the draw I guess). Then, I hear something outside of the door, followed by worried statements from the adults in the house (I'll be at that point one day, I don't want to though). It's a water leak. In the 7 years they have lived at that house, not once did a water leak come up. Then, after I called the plumber (jk I wish, would've been too autistic to do it myself). After a good 30 minutes of waiting and finding out what's wrong, I learn about water key's. How are these things still in use? You can turn off someone else's water with no repercussion if you don't get caught, which is 90% of crime (luckily I don't engage in such activities, yet. They don't know I record Minecraft mods for a living). After turning our water source back on, everything is okay, we just need to complete one last step. From this leak, we got a huge bucket of water held in a cooler. We just needed to take it downstairs. I got this job, I was the only one around. I take it by the handle, and by the luck of a Royal Flush draw, the handle breaks completely and water spills everywhere. We had just spent 30 minutes drying the floor all for it to go to waste. The worst part about this is, that might have been the most engaging part of my 2-week vacation.

One time in 3rd Grade, I was having some fun. That night, I was watching a TV show with my mom, likely something about crime. During that time where I was supposed to be fast asleep, I heard one person yell out the word dumbass, and me being the weird child I was, I immediately knew what that meant, and thought that the next day at school was the perfect time to use it. At recess, when my soccer team couldn't score a goal to save their lives, I whispered to myself "My team is full of dumbasses" over and over again on the assumption that no one could hear me. Someone did hear me, and I got in severe trouble for it.

When I started making this post, it was the middle of the NBA season. Now the NBA Draft is over, and Free Agency moves are decreasing. The fact that we as a society let LA get Dalton Knecht and let Utah win the draft is a disgrace. Collier and Filipowski will be a duo to watch out for. Happy to see Cody Williams get drafted so high, hopefully he can develop under Utah's system. I think the Hornets made the right move with Salaun. I'm willing to argue this also. At pick 6, Cody Williams wouldn't have been bad, Buzelis would've been nice, but Salaun has insane upside, a 7'2 wingspan, and played very well over in France. The Hornets 100% made the right move. The Warriors drafting Quentin Post was a nice move, can likely get some minutes in the G-League. Buddy Hield sounds like a good move right now until they aren't winning and he demands a trade. He's become oddly ego-centric and it started in quarantine. Hated the Kings, went to Indy, got traded to Philly for nothing, then he left after 1/2 a season. Jared McCain was another potential steal. I wish he could've gone to Miami from an NBA perspective, but from his Summer League highlights it does look like Philly made an incredible pick, the Tyrese Maxey 2.0 callouts are completely warranted. Devin Carter was a beautiful pick. If he learns how to play better on offense he is set for superstardom. I just pray he isn't Davion Mitchell 2.0, because that is the same thing I said about him. 3 years later, that didn't happen. The Wizards gaining Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington is a massive win. Malcolm Brogdon can hopefully do better as a role-player for the young guys than Spencer Dinwiddie who just downright hated the team, but it is sad to see Deni go from the team. On the other side, Portland also was a big winner of the draft. Donovan Clingan was easily the best player there.

While making this post, I was contemplating cheating this and typing not exactly the full way through, but enough to make people believe that it was 20,000 characters. I then realized people can check for me lying by copy and pasting my words on to a post by them or on to a Google Doc. Also, that's incredibly cheap, so I'll go the full way. You can check for yourself. If it's a few characters short, that's maybe because of formatting or you copy and pasted it wrong. I can't fix that myself. If I could I would, but it's not under my control.

Throughout the duration of making this post, a lot has happened. I graduated Middle School + started High School, I reached Top 10 in GM score, along with a slew of other things. This is easily the longest someone has ever spent making a post. At least it better be, because if anyone took more than 7 months to make a post what is wrong with you. This was a crazy post idea, and I'm so relieved that me typing up stuff over and over again is finally coming to an end. Please don't try this yourself, I just wanted my last post to b.
