In honor of russell westbrook retiring, I wanted to rank how he played on each team he had played on.

7th Place: The Los Angeles Lakers (2021-2023)

The Lakers had traded all of the championship winner depth for Russ, so they expected him to fit amazingly alongside Davis and LeBron. Normally Russ had the ball and didn’t have much experience anymore without it, and LeBron was the primary playmaker. You probably know what would’ve happened there 😭✌️

6th Place: Denver Nuggets (2024-2025)

Unlike the Lakers, Russ actually was a good fit next to guys like Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. But still, Westbrook was getting used to not have the ball in his hands every single possession 😬 and that would go the same way it went with Los Angeles.

5th Place: Los Angeles Clippers (2023-2024)

Coming off a stink stunt with the Lakers, Westbrook came in with a new mindset. Instead of being criticised by fans (and even his own teammates) he was being more praised. That easily improved his morale, helping him play better like we know Russ.

4th Place: Sacramento Kings (2025-2026)

Even though we all expected Russ to play his worst this past season… he didn’t. Westbrook started putting up Tripple-Doubles again while his stats also improved. Ending his career on a high note. 🫡

3rd Place: Houston Rockets (2019-2020)

Russ still played in Houston as an All-NBA player averaging 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game next to James Harden. Westbrook had mutliple streaks of scoring 20+ points a game during the regular season and playoffs. And reunited with ex-teammate James Harden, they had the chemistry to lead Houston to the 4th Seed.

2nd Place: Washington Wizards (2020-2021)

Starting this off, Westbrook averaged a triple double. Yes, another triple double average. Not only that, he became the leader in all time triple doubles. The wizards were supposed to miss the playoffs and they had a 1% chance until we saw some Russ Magic, leading them to a 17-6 run, making the playoffs. 🤩🤩

1st Place: Oklahoma City Thunder (2008-2019)

Without any suprises, OKC Russ is the best version of russell westbrook we have ever seen. 8x All-Star, 8x All-NBA player, 1x MVP, BACK TO BACK ALL STAR MVP, 2x Scoring leader, 2x Assist leader, and All-Rookie 1st team. Westbrook in OKC was one of the greatest players to EVER touch a basketball. 👏🤩🥳
