**NOTES: The Bucks would cut Livingston and send Tate to DET (Pistons use MLE for Tates salary) in a second trade to get the roster down to 15 players

The Pistons would cut Wendell Moore to get to 15. Detroit would then cut newly acquired Jeff Green to make room to take Tate in the second deal.

The Bucks trade away their 2 biggest stars but come out of it with 7 1st round picks, 3 recent TOP 4 picks (Sheppard #3 in 3024, Thompson #4 in 2023, Smith #3 in 2022) 2 other recent 1st rounders in Ware & Jovic, along with vets Herro, Rozier & Russell.

Beside the haul of players/picks this trade would get the Bucks under the luxury tax threshold this year (and next even if Middleton & Portis both pick up their player options) with a sparkly clean cap sheet moving forward after the 2025/2026 season.

STARTERS: Rozier, Herro, Middleton, Smith, Portis

ROTATION: Russell, Sheppard, Thompson, Jovic, Ware

DEPTH: Wright, Trent, Prince, Johnson, Smith

  • My guess is the Bucks would have Wright, Trent, and Prince stay on the bench to keep them healthy until they are eligible to be traded on 12/21. I'd also expect MIL to put Middleton & Portis on the block but with no real urgency to move either of them. Rozier and Russell could be shopped once they are eligible to be traded
