This is moreso a salary move than a basketball move for Dallas. In saying that though, Jae'sean Tate is no throw in or just salary filler.

What this does is essentially save Dallas $11m next year (only Landale's first year is guaranteed) which is a big deal when you may not be able to move off Dwight Powell nor Richaun Holmes contracts.

Fits a basketball need for Houston, and THJ becomes the backup for Jalen Green as a lethal shooter.

On a side note - it also means THJ wont have to play the Rockets again. He's one guy who always manages to have career games about Houston so this should come as some relief to Rockets fans (me included).
