Zach Lowe threw this out a while back and I thought it was dumb because the Clippers were obviously still all-in with the Harden-PG-Kawhi core. Now PG is likely gone. Could Harden see that too and leave in free agency?
If the Big 3 becomes just Kawhi, the Clippers need to reset. Then a deal for KAT makes sense. KAT's spacing (especially as a center) makes it a good fit for another star which Ballmer will find with his checkbook.
For the Wolves, it pushes up the timeline and is risky with Kawhi's health, but if it clicks, you win the Finals. Defensively, the team would be otherworldly. McDaniels allows Leonard to not have to guard the best player too which may help him stay healthy. Offensively, Kawhi takes pressure off of Ant.
The Wolves could go all out for two years and when Conley/Gobert/Leonard deals are up, they can reset for Ant's prime with Dillingham-Ant-McDaniels-Naz Reid core.
