Ok, I know this is a crazy package, but hear me out. Assuming the Lakers don't make the play-ins this year and decide that their ceiling is no longer a championship level, so they trade away their star players for future assets and young players. Russ is clearly not wanted in LA anymore and the fans make that very clear. Lebron has one more year left on his contract and has already stated that he will play his last year with his son. AD is a generational talent, but his injury history has kept him in and out of the lineup all season. He has also shown that he can not be the 1A on a championship team in NOLA and LA. So I have come up with this 4-team trade to get young assets/tradable pieces for the "Big 3 in LA."

Part 1 Knicks acquire: Russell Westbrook and a second round pick Lakers acquire: Julius Randle and Evan Fournier

Reasoning: Julius Randle has begun to regress from his 2021 form and has shown that he does not want to be in NYC long term. Fournier was recently acquired last season, but has not been as good as the previous seasons. Both are on long term deals which will be hard to move. This is where the Lakers come in. They deal Russ who is on an expiring deal and draft compensation for 2 long-term bad contracts. The Knicks get cap space for the 2023 free agency and the Lakers get 2 solid players on long term deals that can be traded away at a later date if the choose to do so.

Part 2 Cavs acquire: Lebron James Lakers Acquire: Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen

Reasoning: Lebron has made it clear that he will be playing his last season with his son. He has also shown interest in returning to the Cavs to play with their new young core. Lebron is also on the final year on his contract and is not guaranteed to return to the Lakers. For the Cavs, this is a win-now move. They get a second playmaker in Lebron and are giving up Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen. Collin has just got back from injury and has been struggling to get his footing back and moving Markkanen will allow Mobley to take the full time PF position. They will be losing 2 solid players, but they will be bringing back their golden child home even if it is for a year.

Part 3 Hawks acquire: Anthony Davis Lakers Acquire: John Collins, Kevin Knox, Lottery-Protected 2022 Thunder first rounder, Unprotected 2023 Hawks first rounder

Reasoning: For the Hawks, this is a win now move that will catapult the Hawks into title contention. They finally add a 1B to Trae Young. The Hawks give up John Collins who has been in the rumor mill for the past few years as well as Kevin Knox, a young prospect, and a 2022 protected first from OKC that will probably translate to a high first in 2023 as well as the Hawks 2023 pick which, assuming the Hawks will be good, will be a late 1st round pick. The Lakers will finally have some young players to build around or trade for more assets. AD will fit in perfectly with Capela as he does not want to play C. He can provide a lob threat like Collins as well as perimeter shooting so Capela can work down low. AD also provides better interior defense compared to Collins. It's a lot to give up, but for a top 75 player of all time, it should hopefully be worth it. The only consideration to give up one less pick would be AD's injury history.
