I think if the cavs REALLY wanted sexton I think they’d have come to some sort of agreement by now. I believe their holding out for a sign and trade but I don’t think his value is crazy high. This trade nets them a pick in this draft which they don’t have and more depth to their front court which they don’t need but doesn’t really hurt them.

For the thunder, everyone is excited by their off-season and I think if they add Sexton to their roster they can carry some of that excitement over into the regular season. It may not translate to wins but it should bring an extra level of intrigue to watching them play. He also doesn’t throw off what the thunder are trying to do, he fits their age range and they have money to spend and if they find out he doesn’t fit then he’s not locked into anything long term unless they sign him to a long term deal. The pick their giving up belongs to the clippers which I personally believe will end up in the 25-30 range so I doubt they could turn that pick into a better young player then Sexton.
