Bucks:
Their roster is awful, they have no assets and cutting Dame destroyed their finances
this trade is doing right by Giannis while also getting a lot of the assets back that they lost while trying to compete —> the 26’ pick in particular is very valuable because they get their own pick back to properly tank
They’d also have at least one pick in every year and more flexibility overall
Vessel and especially Jalen Johnson are huge additions and building blocks towards a future without Giannis
losing Turner is probably a blessing in disguise since he signed a long term contract and doesn’t really fit their future without Giannis around
Atlanta:
they finally go all in and add a top 3-5 talent alongside Trae to compete in a what looks to be wide open eastern conference
Giannis, Trae and the rest have a legit 4 year championship window, without destroying their assets situation after that (they hold all their picks after 2030 though they might need to add the 32’ pick with a bit of protection)
losing JJ and Dyson hurt but you’re getting Giannis lol —> keeping Risacher is huge imo because JJ obviously being more talented but Risachers skillset is important to have with Giannis and Trae around, Dyson is due to a huge extension and you’ve already signed a similar profile with NAW
They get Kolek as a throw in but im not sure if he or Krejci are good enough for backup PG minutes but they are still extremely deep in a weaker eastern conference
Starters Trae - NAW - Risacher- Giannis - Turner Bench Krejci/Kolek - Kennard - Newell - Okongwu
Knicks:
Mike Brown started a double big lineup in both preseason games and I’m pretty sure that’s the direction the Knicks will go forward with —> the goal of this trade is to double down on that idea while simultaneously improving POA defense
Dyson Daniels is a perfect fit alongside Brunson and good enough to give consistent backup PG minutes with Brunson off the floor (something the Knicks struggled with last season)
the trade allows Mikal to slide up to his natural SF position, hopefully improving his efficiency and defensive output with less responsibilities
since it’s implied that Mitch is going to start I’d like to add another starting caliber center to the roster since he’s been very injury prone over the years —> same goes for Porzingis but we’d have 4 players capable of playing center with his addition so I’m not worried
the trade frees up enough money to sign both Shamet and Brogdon while keeping the option open to pick up another FA down the line
Dyson and Mitch are due to sign extensions so I don’t think they’ll keep Porzingis but the trade allows a lot of flexibility to further improve the roster next year without any drawbacks
Starters JB - Daniels - Brodges - KAT - Mitch Brogdon - Deuce/Clarkson - Hart - Yabu - KP
Spurs:
after locking down Fox and drafting Harper, they have way too many guards in their team
this trade allows them to flip one of the oldest ones of them for one of the best wing defenders in the league who’s still only 28
the picks they give up all all going to be late FRP so don’t trip about the amount of them lol
