Lakers - LA lacks one thing to contend: a big man. This pick gives them the chance to draft their long term big man to pair with Luka and to win now with LeBron. They would most likely take Maluach here, who seems to be a perfect fit with Luka as a rim running big. If Maluach isn’t on the board, they most likely don’t do this trade but could still take Queen to be the big man of the future. This is a similar package to what they would’ve give up for Mark Williams so this makes sense for them. Losing Knecht hurts and the 2031 pick is a risk but Luka should still be an all nba level player by then and whoever they take here will be in his prime at that point.

Nets - This pick is mostly for the prize of the 2031 Lakers pick. They move back 3 spots and land a potentially very valuable pick depending on if Luka is still in LA at that point. They give up the Knicks pick in 2027 but that pick will most likely be in the high 20s so it’s not that big of a deal. The 11th pick vs the 8th pick in this deep draft also isn’t that big of a chance for the Nets.

Blazers - The prize in this deal for the Blazers is Knecht. They lost their pick in this years draft but they gain Knecht who was an all rookie player this year and is a great young wing for the future of Portland. Having him, Sharpe, Deni, and Camara at the wings would be an elite future for the Blazers with Scoot and Clingan at the guard and center positions. The Knicks pick in 2027 most likely won’t be anything special but anything can happen and it’s still a first rounder.
