Jazz get Dlo for a year, a team that won't do anything in the west. This opens up the possibility to trade Clarkson or Sexton for a 3 through 5 if they want to do that.
Magic would only do this to allow Anthony Black get more minutes in his sophomore season.
Nets would do this for the 2nd round picks they get from Utah as well as the hope that JHS turns into an NBA level player, but also to bring in two players allowing them to trade their valuable assets for draft picks from other teams and trades.
Lakers obviously benefit from this trade, opening up spots in the rotation for guys like Knecht and Christie, but also giving them more bigman depth allowing AD to run the PF and the bigmen coming in will mean that the Lakers aren't solely relying on Davis to do the heavy lifting on defence when he's on the floor, and this will also let the Lakers be a good defensive team when he's off it.
