According to sources, Lonzo Ball has injured his left knee and will miss the start of the regular season. It's been well-documented by now because I'm an hour late like usual to reporting this, and this means danger for Chicago. But there's one storyline I think everyone is missing. This injury really shows the importance of Donovan Mitchell to a team. The Bulls were not prepared for this at all. After he went down last season, everyone imagined like it would just be a minor setback for Chicago, and they'd have to wait until next year to actually judge this team. Well now that wait is gonna be longer. I don't think this pushes the Bulls out of playoff contention because he's likely to return and I trust DeMar DeRozan to carry this offense while he's out, but the Bulls are definitely going to end up in the Play-In Tournament now. Now granted, LaVine and Mitchell are both Shooting Guards, but the thing you have to understand is D Mitch is 6'1. He's undersized for a Point Guard! If the Bulls knew about this, in no time, Eversley would've traded Ball and other assets to get Spida. Maybe Derrick Jones Jr., and a few first round picks, but that's about all it would've taken to get Donovan seeing the offer the Jazz got in return. There are still many questions unanswered. How will Ayo Dosumnu play? Will the Bulls be fine without Lonzo? Will they crumble and burn? Should they go for Wenbanyama? And so much more? What are your thoughts?
