Middleton is an expiring contract and gives Cavs a ton of options to make moves next offseason for which they will armed with all the valuable pick swaps from the Wizards. Right now Cavs are in the second apron and cannot make needful changes to their team which is as we saw with Denver can make or break an offseason. Wizards get a top young point guard for a player whose contract is expiring especially in a position where they don't have top players.
