Why the clippers do this: Tre jones and charles bassey are better to have off your bench than KPJ and Bamba, and you get rid of PJ Tucker's contract. This trade "should" help the clippers' offense, as they are 22nd in the league in ORTG.

Why the spurs do this: You get a young underused prospect in bones hyland who you can develop with stephon castle (even if he is on the older side to use as a prospect). Although P.J. has a team option he most likely will accept, you will get veteran presence and a contract to use in future trades with a first that probably will not be good, but is still a first round pick in an extremely deep draft.
