The trade package for KD is more than fair imo, it’s basically just as if they traded KAT + their 31’ FRP (Rob) for KD —> considering his age he might be willing to lower his salary on his next contract to keep Minnesota out of the second apron
Naz obviously resigns but he has to opt out to make the money work
Suns:
KD is definitely out of Phoenix with reports of his representatives and the representatives of the Suns actively looking for suitors
they could’ve just taken Rob but he’s not ready to start on a team with playoff aspirations yet and use the pick from Dallas (#11) to get a more ready PG to pair with Book
I think it’s either trade him to Houston for your picks back or trade him somewhere to get a return that takes you to the playoffs —> if there is no way to salvage the situation with Booker they’d still have the option to trade Booker in the coming year to Houston to properly rebuild
Mavs:
After the Luka trade they are practically forced to build around Kyrie and AD for the next couple of years so why not add a former all defense wing on a relatively small buy price?
compared to NY Mikal gets to play his best position (which is SF) and he won’t be forced to run POA because he plays in lineups with Christie and Deuce McBride
AD and PJ didn’t look great together in their limited minutes and I’m sure Mikal would make a better running mate for AD/Kyrie than PJ does
I also don’t see who Dallas would draft at #12 who they couldn’t get at #18 so trading down makes sense in general
Knicks:
I don’t really like Bridges fit in New York and since the team is in a short window and he’s in a contract year I’d rather try to get the best out of him instead of waiting for next season
Knicks lack backup PG play, shooting and height which is why the acquisitions of all 3 of Rob, Donte and PJ would all help out
Mikal current plays in a system that’s perfectly suited for Donte and the double big lineups show that OG Anunoby is the most comfortable and the most dominant offensively playing at SF
id use picks #31 and #49 to add shooting and a backup PF to the roster —> Lendeborg and Brea are both seniors who could immediately fill in some minutes
I’d bring back McCullar, Payne and a backup 4 to fill up the roster to 14
