Why the Warriors do this: This would obviously bolster their bench and give them a better chance at being a true playoff contender. It's quite obvious they're not a deep team right now, and they would be moving two young players that don't get any minutes for quality vets who can contribute immediately. Poeltl would be a great true big for the Warriors and would provide them a much-needed anchor on defense. Gay would be a quality 3-and-D wing and would provide some experience to the second unit and locker room. If they worry too much about not having any young guys, they are developing some quality players in the G-League (Ryan Rollins, Lester Quiones, Gui Santos, Trevion Williams)

Why the Jazz do this: Would be swapping an older vet for a potential star in Wiseman. Wiseman has the potential to be great, but he is still a bit of a project, and the Warriors just aren't a good place for him to progress and get reps. Utah would be a great place for him to experiment and get reps on an NBA court, and get his market value up. (If they want to try and get Wemby/do get Wemby, they would most likely trade him.)

Why the Spurs do this: According to some reports, the Spurs aren't interested in getting Wiseman back for Poeltl; they're more interested in getting Moody. This trade allows them to get Moody, somebody who fits with the Spurs/Pop style and can be a quality wing with the right development. The picks, although low, would help the Spurs get some more chances to further help them rebuild properly.
