This is a trade that could make sense both teams. The Philadelphia 76ers get younger and more balanced because Michael Porter Jr. can be seen as an upgrade over Paul George at this point of their careers. MPJ is younger, healthier and fits better with the team’s timeline. Tre Mann is mainly added to help balance the contracts, but he can still be useful off the bench. Since the Sixers’ second unit is pretty weak, he could actually provide scoring and playmaking minutes when the starters rest. The Sixers could also try to re-sign MPJ later on a cheaper contract. For the Brooklyn Nets, I am not completely sure they would do the trade because Paul George has a very expensive contract. However, getting Quentin Grimes plus a first-round pick and two second-round picks could make the Nets’ general manager seriously think about it.
