Well Kyrie out with racism issues, Ben is just not Ben. Only thing i see is long wingspan, which still allows him to get steals, but that's it. His defensive rating this year is on 121, when in the last season he played, he's on 106, way worse right?!
These 2 dudes are just unknowns for this team, and BKN need to win NOW, and when KD is playing alone, they beat the Hornets and the Wizards, ofc yea these 2 teams aren't that good of a team, but then when 3 of them are playing tgt, they lost to the PACERS!!! That's why i think this trade needs to happen
Kyrie is dealing with off court issues, it's very very unclear that when will he comeback. BKN can't afford to hv an unknown player on their squad when they're trying to win, or basically, MUST WIN. Same with Ben, he showed no sign that he can be a team's 2nd or 3rd best player, i rlly dk if he even scored more than 10 this season!
When KD's playing alone, we saw that outside shooting will be very efficient, for example, Royce O'Neal, he has been great for BKN this season, at least i see highlights, i always see him hit catch and shoot 3s, that got me thinkin, if their whole team can be like that, or just hv a team where if they move the ball around and around and they will find consistent shooters to knock it down
Well now they will hv PG (Conley, Mills), SG (Curry, Beasley), SF (Harris, Royce) as great great shooters, with the main star KD, who can potentially make spaces for them, and 2 good centers (Claxton, Poeltl), and some explosive young players (Sumner, Duke JR) and ceiling guys (Sharpe, Thomas)
Their playstyle will change from giving the ball to KD or Kyrie for iso, to let KD run it, then everyone run and just play ball movement. Spray opponents with 3s, which enough D, this should be an even better team than the current Nets
Oh and they also add in KJ Martin who's another good defender, should help out the paint D
Why other teams accept this:
Rockets:
For me, Rockets isn't a team who's tanking for Wemby, they're solid, they got a young core, Green, Eason, JSJ, with some solid young bench. They're in the end of their rebuild, and are ready to aim for the Playoffs. KPJ doesn't look like the future PG beside Jalen Green, plus Jalen Green need some defensive help around him.
Before the year of absence of Simmons, he's is one of the best defenders in the league, averaging numbers around 15 8 8. He's a guy where the Rockets can for sho use. Now, ofc he's not showing all these, but he's still averaging 7-8 assists, still very very willing to pass (basically scared to shoot), this will create much opportunities for knowckdown shooters like Jalen and JSJ
His defense definitely did regress, but then it's still above average, and his defensive ability is still very special, he can guard 1-5, not locking up, but able. He hv the court vision that Rockets need while being one of the best defenders, not now, but then still a good one, which the Rockets need. A lineup of Simmons, Jalen, Eason, JSJ, Sengun, the defense (excluding Jalen) will be super switch-able
This just cost then a vet, which is on the trade block alrdy, and Tate, imo Rockets alrdy don't need him, he don't seem like he is in the Rockets long term plan. KJ Martin also want more chance to play, he also did hv some interest to leave
Heat:
Well it looks like the Heat are underpaying here, they're actually not. They hv to take 2 HUGE RISKS
Kyrie is on 1 year contract, he can leave after this season and Heat gets back nth
U know if he gets traded he will still be dealing with off court issues, he might be unavailable for them once again
But here's why i think Miami should take the risk:
Kyrie need a new start, if Miami welcomes him he will be a great NBA player again. Im sure that Kyrie hv alrdy learn from his mistakes
If Kyrie rlly leaves then treat this trade as clearing 36M so that they won't be super super over cap, cus next offseason they need to resign Max and Gabe, and need to start paying 30M to Herro a season
The Heat can't back out now, they hv to go all in, they can take this opportunity to steal a cheap Kyrie (his trade value won't be his actual value cus he got offcourt issues going on, it must drop)
Plus Heat need another 'star' to success, they lost PJ Tucker, i think the best way for them to go back to contention is to get themselves more starpower
Spurs:
EG will be flippable, maybe at the deadline they can help eat a bigger contract and move Gordon and J Rich for it. He also hv the value, not a bad contract, Spurs can flip him for sth else, this should be a better asset for them comparing to Harris
also a frp to their collection, for a vet which is not in their long term plan
Jazz:
Looking at their depth chart, in the SG spot, they hv Clarkson, NAW, (THT), Agbaji
But in the frontcourt it's not that deep, i think they can use Tate more than Beasley
I believe Agbaji can replace Beasley if he got moved
Conley is also mid this season, moving him for Lowry in the trade while also getting back 2 srps, i think they can do it, plus they save up more cap here, for future tanking trades to eat contract possibly
Moving Beasley should open up more time for Clarkson, which is alrdy great this season, can't wait to see if he gets more shot up and touches
