I found this trade to be really hard to grade but post finals and after looking into the fallout of game 7 for the pacers this trade seems to be more Gradable. I found it hard for my grade explanations to explain my rankings so I'll link the explanation post but lets just say I do not think the grade descriptions accurately describe each grade on that post rather I'd just read my reasoning. Ok on to the grades

Pacers: B-

This trade may look insignificant in retrospect and I think it likely will but I also believe this is a smart move that has only aged better for the past week, The pacers are likely going to have a big offseason in 2026 and before the Haliburton achilles tear it looked like the Pacers were going to be able to run it back next year without many problems with the cap. This move makes sense based on that because the pacers likely have to cut money in the next season they also lose depth and talent. therefore moving picks to this offseason will be ideal due to them being able to get talent for cheap. Now since then we did see Haliburton unfortunately have that injury which likely takes him out for all of next year changing the direction of the pacers offseason. the pacer will likely aim to be lower than the luxury tax this offseason meaning someone will likely be moved now. This still allows the trade to keep its value since they now control their pick so if the pacers don't perform as well and maybe somehow miss the play offs or end up with a top 20 pick it means they have received a better pick that offseason than the year before and still allows them to get talent in for when Haliburton returns and they can build the roster to their liking in that offseason. Good trade for them.

Pelicans: B-

I can not say the Pelicans trade was bad, maybe unlucky that the pacers pick next year could be better but this also lets them make more trades and gives them more versatility in the range of direction they can go in this offseason wether thats retooling, selling or they think they can continue to add to this team and buy into a higher pick and get someone like Ace Bailey or add two young players, they could also still trade down with the hawks and then maybe package some pick together to get a couple picks high in the draft there's a lot they can do here. They recently got reported to be interested in Kristaps Porzingis so this pick could be useful to the Celtics who again need cheap talent int his offseason and to dip under the tax. So I quite like this for them, far from perfect but there's an argument to say they won this trade and I generally think they made the right decision to trade into another pick this year so it deserves the B- grade.
