JOKIC
Nikola Jokic is going to be the MVP of the 2020-21 season, according to the results of a straw poll conducted by Tim Bontemps of ESPN. He would be the first Denver Nuggets player in league history to win the MVP award, and the first center to win MVP since Shaquille O’Neal in 2000. Jokic is averaging 26.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, while shooting 56.4% from the field, 41.8% on 3-point attempts, and 85.3% on free throw attempts.
The voting numbers for the straw poll are listed below.
Nikola Jokic - 969 points
Joel Embiid - 401 points
Giannis Antetokounmpo- 375 points
Damian Lillard - 283 points
James Harden - 231 points
LeBron James - 105 points
Chris Paul - 98 points
Kawhi Leonard - 80 points
Luka Doncic - 28 points
Rudy Gobert - 26 points
Donovan Mitchell - 14 points
Stephen Curry - 13 points
Devin Booker - 3 points
So it looks like Jokic is running away with it. Although, if Embiid, Giannis, and Dame all dominate in these last few games, and if Jokic's team falls off, then you could see either one of them winning MVP.
