Alright, here we go again
Trade Number 1, Marcus Smart, Triston Thompson, Romeo Langford, and a 2023 SRP for Fred Van Fleet.
Everyone is probably wondering, why the hell would Toronto trade Van Fleet? Well, they have the #4 pick, prime to pick Jalen Suggs. Both Suggs and Van Fleet play similar styles, so a rebuilding team like the Raptors would shop their older rather than the younger. A package like this, with lots of useful players for their needs, could convince them. The next piece of the next gen Celtics has arrived in Boston, hot and ready.
Trade Number 2, Evan Fournier Sign and Trade and Robert Williams lll for T. J. Warren and T. J. McConnell.
The Pacers have apparently been interested in Fourneir since the trade deadline. Getting him, and a rising young prospect, for an outgoing player and a past-prime veteran is a cheap price to pay. For the Celtics, they get a great backup PG and a starting wing to pair with Tatum.
Free Agency Signings, JaVale McGee and Rudy Gay
McGee was a very unknown player on Denver, and his pay of the mid-level exception is double what Denver has on him right now. He would be the biggest and most experienced in combination of any center on this team. Therefore, he would have a good amount of involvement, much like in LA when he played in a 3-center rotation
Meanwhile, Gay has a great veteran experience on the Celtics bench, as well as a defensive prowess. He would be greatly needed on a team of young players such as Pritchard, Nesmith, and Langford.
