Knicks Trade Idea to keep the Knicks right below the 2nd Apron whilst still signing OG, I-Hart, and maintaining flexibility.

Knicks get Kuzma from the Wizards and sign back OG and I-Hart to bigger numbers. The idea is that Kuzma is another Big wing that you can utilize for scoring and I believe Thibs could help mold Kuzma back into a defensive player as well. And then money-wise, Kuzma’s contract is descending, so in this scenario, it will not hurt the Knicks and put them in the 2nd Apron if they decide to keep him past next season. And then if it doesn’t work out, they can trade him away for something else. To help keep the Knicks out of the 2nd Apron, I also waived DaQuan and signed Andre Drummond to a vet minimum to help with the Big Man Depth.

For Washington’s return, they’d be getting back Mitch and Bojan, who are both solid veterans who can help the Wizards either with their re-build or for a future trade piece down the line. Mitch is a younger center who can help anchor their defense while Bojan can provide some spacing and shooting. Draft capital wise, you’d give up 2 First Round Picks (Detroit’s 2025, and the Knick’s 2026), and 1 Second Round Pick (Brooklyn’s 2025), which I think is good value for Washington to get back for Kuzma.

As for the Knicks, they still maintain a good amount of draft capital and give up only a couple of them for a solid, slightly younger, and more durable player in Kuzma.

What do you think of the scenario? Let me know what you think in the comments.
