Collin's value is really hard to determine. Before this season, he's likely a 2-3 first round pick level value with varying protections. But the poor play and new contract have likely driven his value into the ground. Personally, I think this is more McMillan's coaching style rather than a testament to his talent. The Pacers sending Hield is likely more difficult than other fanbases would think. The organization loves him as a contributor and a locker room guy, to the point that I'm concerned they don't want to move him. But for the Hawks, he would give them really solid versatility in their bench backcourt. He's known for his off-ball high-level scoring, but his time in Indy shows he has some solid on-ball skills to where he could run a second unit. As a Pacer fan who has watch both guys, I feel very comfortable in saying the Hawks would get much better results with Hield over A. Holiday in their second unit.

For the Pacers you would get a guy who fits really well next to Myles. I only think the Pacers make this move with the intent on signing Myles, but they could also eye someone to fill his shoes in the draft. What Collins lacks in defense and playmaking, he makes up for with his high motor rebounding, screening ability, and floor stretching ability. This would give the Pacers really really solid flexibility going forward with Mathurin/Duarte running the 2 and 3. In the event they look towards a true wing in the draft, they would move Duarte to the bench with a Nembhard/Duarte bench tandem that I'm dying to see. If the Pacers were to deal for Collins, I would hope they draft a guy in the mold of a Mikal Bridges or DeAndre Hunter (long wingspan, bulldog on defense, and 3 point shooting ability).

Pacers:

Haliburton/Mathurin/Duarte/Collins/Turner

Hawks:

No change to starting lineup. However, Hield will offer solid backcourt versatility in the first and second units.
