The same situation with Lavine, hardly anyone in the league wants or can use DeMar, his style of play, demanding the ball, just doesn’t fit in most teams. In fact if not Butler’s ACL injury he would’ve no market. And again, if there’s a chance to move him off and free cap space next year, they do it. Kuminga is a guy who they liked for a while already, and giving him the freedom to play can prove that he can still be an all star one day. Even if they don’t like his progression after half a year there is still a team option to decline

Warriors:

As a Warriors fan, it sucks that Butler is out for the year when we have the best momentum of the year. All we can do is just wait for next year and go again. This season is hopeless, therefore I don’t look to give up on any future assets. Kuminga’s time is up, to give Steph a little bit more joy to play, I would take on the extra year of DeMar’s contract and trade for him. He is still a good scorer and has experience. As an expiring next year, he match the timeline of our cap sheet and if a trade is needed, it should be easy to attach future assets alongside him to get someone else

Cavs:

It has been a tricky season for the Cavs, lost their depth, Garland struggling. I just don’t think it is the right time to move Garland, when he picks things back up he is still a fringe all star PG. So just a minor trade for them, getting an experienced backup C with Horford, and give them more options for the bigs
