Cavs : A

I love this deal for Cleveland. They needed defense in the backcourt and Lonzo provides that. He also can still put up some points and adds some playmaking. If Lonzo can stay healthy, he adds another premier role player to this team, especially if he finds his 3 point shot like he did in January. Okoro’s shooting limitations doomed him in Cleveland and Lonzo is definitely an upgrade for them.

Bulls - C+

I don’t hate this deal, but I don’t love it. If I’m Chicago, I’d rather get picks for Lonzo. Okoro is an interesting project for them long term though. He can allow Essengue to ease into his time in Chicago and maybe long term be a rotation player, as he is still under 25. This is Chicago betting that they can turn Okoro’s career around after being drafted 5th in 2020.
