WHY THE HAWKS DO THIS: Hawks are currently the 19th best offense in the league according to offensive rating and the 18th best defense in the league according to defensive rating, both below average (rank 15), however, they are the 7th seed in the east. They get rid of the expiring contract of clint capela who was just benched for Okongwu and Larry Nance Jr for a talented scorer to fill the holes of bogdanovic and daniels' perimeter scoring, and a super underrated defensive center, both on 3 year deals, which you could move off of in the future (you probably will due to Johnson's extension and Daniels most likely getting an extreme extension in the future), in exchange for a SAC 1st protected 1-12 which will end up being most likely a late first, a lottery protected lakers 2025 pick which will most likely end up being out of the lottery considering lakers are the five seed in the west, and some mediocre second round picks. Also, while Johnson (Cameron) isn't the best defender, the hawks still get extremely tall after this trade (your smallest player outside of trae in the starting lineup is Dyson Daniels at 6'7).
WHY THE NETS DO THIS: They get a late first from Sacramento in one of the deepest drafts of the century with a minnesota second who are underperforming, but most importantly, they get 24 million dollars in expiring salary which they can use in upcoming free agency. Also get david roddy to fill out the hole in the roster post Cam.
WHY THE RAPTORS DO THIS: Raptors are committed for tanking, and jakob poeltl does not fit that timeline as a 29 year old center who's having a significantly underrated season. They get a lottery protected lakers first which, again, will probably end up being a late first, but again, really deep draft. They get 11.2 million dollars in expiring salary in Larry Nance Jr, and while cody zeller is old and on a 3 year deal, he barely makes any money and you can easily send him off if the salary cap really gets that dire.
POST TRADE HAWKS LINEUP:
Young - Daniels - Johnson - Johnson - Okongwu/Poeltl
Kreji - Mathews - Bogdanovic/Risacher - Hunter - Okongwu/Poeltl
