Better fit both teams.

MIN: Ayton is a legit mid-paint relief valve for Ant for cost (MIN got the offensive/defensive weapons to weather his inconsistency), plus additional serviceable bench filler (Knecht underrated floor spacer for Ant). Multiple smaller contracts opens financial flexibility to further retool. MIN done with passes going through Gobert's fingertips, and Ant hasn't figured out yet (nowhere near the degree of Luka does) how to effectively play off/with his bigs and/or consistently/forcefully get to his own spots to help mitigate Rudy's offensive limitations.

LAL: needs a legit/professional defensive anchor to cover Luka's defensive limitations and clean the boards (few better than Gobert focusing strictly defensive end), allowing Luka to regain focus on offensive (know better how to get to his spots). 2 years left on Gobert doesn't longterm cripple the franchise financial flexibility. May entice LBJ to resign of Gobert is doing the heavy-lifting backline defender. If you know bball you know it's fool's gold to think Luka's defense is going to get to elite level, so you gotta compensate with defensive force (think Lively in DAL ... Ayton nowhere near that quality as backline defensive anchor ... and Gobert shows up every night)
