This is a 5-way trade that helps the Nets get their franchise star, the Wolves a way to break up their twin towers experiment, the Mavericks their center and the Raptors their asking price for OG.
Note: The Suns pick only goes to the Raptors if OG gives verbal confirmation that he's willing to resign with Minnesota, otherwise the Wolves keep the pick. ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Reasoning for the Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn recieve: Karl Anthony-Towns
Brooklyn give up: Nicolas Claxton, Spencer Dinwiddie, 2 FRPs
Why they do this: In the modern era, it's impossible to even be a playoff team with two complete non-shooters in the starting 5, and that's the situation Brooklyn find themselves in right now. Simmons has negative trade value and anyway has shown promising flashes in preseason in returning to his All-Star form. Getting one of, if not the best stretch 5's in the NBA right now to replace their second non-shooter in Claxton will space the floor out a ton for the Nets, not to mention that KAT grew up supporting them and it's about time they had a homegrown star.

Reasoning for the Minnesota Timberwolves
Wolves recieve: Spencer Dinwiddie, OG Anunoby
Wolves give up: Karl Anthony-Towns
Why they do this: When the Wolves won the lottery in 2015, they thought they'd landed themselves a gem and a star who GMs considered more valuable to a team than LeBron and KD. While KAT certainly hasn't been a flop, he hasn't lived up to those expectations but will certainly get a better return than if Minnesota trade Gobert, the other big in their failed twin tower experiment. Here, they net the expiring contract of Dinwiddie to pair with Conley's, which will help them greatly in resigning McDaniels and OG. Dinwiddie also fills up a hole they've had in the rotation - backup PG.

Reasoning for the Dallas Mavericks
Dallas recieve: Nicolas Claxton, Malachi Flynn
Dallas give up: Jaden Hardy, Richaun Holmes, 1 FRP
Why they do this: It's been no secret that the Mavs want a solid reliable big after the frustrations they had with Dwight Powell at the end of their season. They've been linked to Capela a lot but failed to obtain him since they were unwilling to part with their pick. Claxton however is younger, better offensively and was the most efficient player in the league last season, with a much better contract. The price would be cheaper than Capela's too, with the Mavericks able to keep both Green and THJ due to his smaller contract, as well as being able to give up Holmes's bad contract.

Reasoning for the Toronto Raptors
Toronto recieve: Jaden Hardy, Richaun Holmes, 3 FRPs
Toronto give up: OG Anunoby, Malachi Flynn
Why they do this: This is the best return the Raptors can possibly dream of for OG, especially since they probably won't be able to retain both OG and Siakam, and then Scottie the following year. This also forces the FO into a very clear choice - use the picks to get a star guard beside Barnes and Siakam, or trade Siakam too and rebuild around their ROTY? If they do want to rebuild, getting 3 FRPs, two of them potentially very valuable, and a solid prospect in Hardy is a great way to start.
