Why the Spurs do it Don't be alarmed by what the Cavs get. They're all top 10 protected and they get a few hawks picks who in my opinion probably will land in the top 10. It's more like 2-3 mid-late frp and maybe 1 impact player at best with those Srp and on Srp is top 10 proected making it almost useless. The haul is a great big 3 and they have the picks to add role players. Also the Spurs will have so much depth these next years, a guy not top 10 won't be as needed compared to most other teams not the Thunder. Why the Cavs do it The Cavs have Spida and Allen and they perform better without the other one. Trading Mobley and Garland clears that up and they can get Johnson and Castle who could be very good. The treasure-load of picks are for trade value but the Cavs do this to retool their offense because of chemistry issues.
