Trade is for TBGamer56’s trade challenge!
Pacers - Indiana has a massive hole at center and there’s really no perfect replacement available for Myles Turner but Gafford is one of their best options. He doesn’t have the floor spacing but he’s a rim running big that projects to pair well with Tyrese Haliburton. He also provides a bit more rebounding, since he averaged slightly more in less minutes than Turner. Toppin is a necessary loss to add a replacement big man. This next season will also most likely be a development year for the Pacers with Tyrese out so they can give chances to guys like Jarace Walker to develop into the backup PF in place of Toppin. Adding a high pick will also help shore up that depth.
Mavs - Lively is the answer long term at center for the Mavs and Gafford is an expendable high level big. Here they land a true backup PF, which they didn’t really have unless they played undersized with Martin or Naji. Toppin is a high level rebounder, who has added a great floor spacing game and has always had elite athleticism. He’s an ideal long term rotation player for this team and the seconds are a nice sweetener in the deal.
