Suns don't have a true point guard on the roster. Tyus would be a great fit coming off the bench as one of the best backup point guards in the league. Ayton either way is not going to show his capabilities on this kind of roster as the 4th option, so Daniel Gafford won't be as much a downgrade and will be willing to play his role.

DeAndre Ayton is exactly the type of player the Wizards should go after. He still has a lot of upside and being in a new situation with a much bigger role gives him an opportunity to have a breakout season. A Jordan Poole/DeAndre Ayton young duo in just year 1 of the rebuild is a great start. Gafford doesn't have nearly as much upside, Tyus doesn't fit their timeline and whatever you flip him for is very unlikely to get you someone as good as Ayton.
